Welcome to our Trust
IRIS Learning Trust was formed in June 2018 and is based in the North East of England. We are proud to serve our communities and aim to offer outstanding educational provision. The Trust believes that to be successful and promote a culture of excellence and aspiration, we need to place improving lives and outcomes of the children at the heart of everything we do.
Our vision is to establish great primary schools that are centres of excellence for leadership, teaching, learning and assessment, where families trust staff to keep their children safe and engaged in learning.
We want our children to regard learning as an enjoyable, lifelong activity that brings them fulfilment and success.
The result will be confident, independent learners with a curiosity for learning about the world around them.
The trust is driven by a commitment to raising levels of aspiration and achieving ambitious goals for all.
All of our schools are graded good in the most recent inspections .
Highfield Academy October 2022
Leaders are ambitious for pupils. Teachers push pupils to maximise their potential. Pupils step up to the challenge. For example, leaders encourage pupils to take on extra responsibilities in school. Pupils do this willingly. Student council members are proud to represent their class at council meetings. Pupils take turns to help kitchen staff to clear things away at the end of lunchtime. ‘Reading rangers’ promote the importance of reading to their peers and look after the school library. They wear their reading ranger sashes with pride.
Teesville Academy September 2023
Pupils enjoy their time at this friendly school. They enjoy lessons as well as many of the ways the school extends the curriculum. They particularly enjoy lessons that bring the outside world into school. They also enjoy educational visits to support their learning on areas, such as rainforests. The school gives pupils a confidence that is apparent in the day-to-day life of the school.
Valley Road Academy October 2022
This is a warm and welcoming school. Leaders make sure that pupils and staff are valued as members of the school community. Staff look after pupils well. Staff take the time to listen to pupils who have any concerns. Pupils are happy and feel safe. Parents are very positive about the school. They especially enjoy the craft afternoons, where parents and carers are invited into school to work with their children, promoting the school’s ‘working together’ approach.
